Notes and Rantings

By not kowtowing to the cable company, I have been unable to keep up with the pop culture of my peers. Apparently there are these things called “TV shows” that transmit images through the air into these machines called “TVs” and that people sit on things called “couches” so that they can watch these things called “TV shows” on the things called “TVs”. I am simply shocked! I had no idea! A couple of days ago a friend of mine invites me over to her house to watch one of these “TV shows” on her “couch”: it was a “TV show” about people dancing….doubly shocked! They were good! They ARE good! Dang…that Emmitt Smith kid can dance! And that goofball Jerry Springer…!?! But then I thought, “Heck, anybody can do that…if they took classes from Linda!” I guess my point is this: watch the show on Tuesday night, but get your bee-hinds down to Linda’s classes on Wednesday and Thursday nights or else you’ll miss all the real fun! Vivica A. Fox ain’t got nothin’ on you!

INVITE YOUR FRIENDS

For those of you who attended classes last week, don’t forget to invite your friends using the Free Dance Class cards given out. Remember, if two of your friends redeem their Free Dance Class cards with your name on them, you get a free class yourself. What a deal! Need more cards? More are available at the hall.

DANCE EVENT OF THE WEEK

Did you, like me, have a great time at Linda’s dance the other night? Do you want some more? Here’s your chance: The Cal Poly Ballroom Dance Club will be hosting a dance this coming Saturday (10/7) at Cal Poly’s Chumash Auditorium. There will be a Beginning Cha Cha lesson at 7:30 followed by open dancing at 8:30. The floor space is huge and the cost is only $5. Come support the Cal Poly Ballroom Club! For a map and more information, see http://cpdst.org/content/view/54/59/

West Coasters: I know Boogie-by-the-Bay is coming up this weekend, but New Years is not that far off. See “Happenings” below to get info on the Palm Springs New Year’s Dance Camp!
