Myles Munroe and Tessa Cunningham are Canada’s top West Coast Swing couple, currently ranked top 5 in the world, according to the World Swing Dance Council (WSDC) and National Association of Swing Dance Events (NASDE).

Based in Vancouver, they travel internationally, teaching, competing, performing, coaching, and judging at dance events across the globe. They are fiercely committed to creating awareness of this evolved and expressive form of Swing. Known for their creativity and innovative style in both improvised and choreographed competition, Myles & Tessa push the boundaries of the art and sport of West Coast Swing.

Saturday

Time Description
7:30 pm What Not to Dance - Extreme WCS Makeover. Cleaning up bad habits and busting the outdated myths of WCS.
8:15 pm The Conversation of WCS. Compares lead and follow in which both parties take turns listening and speaking, rather lecturing, shouting or demanding.
9:00 pm Open Dancing and Demos by Myles and Tessa. Refreshments Provided - Thanks for bringing snacks to share!

Sunday

Time Description
12:00 noon Surprise Direction Changes. Spicing up your existing moves by learning how to control your body and your partner’s body to create new moves.
2:00 pm Snack Break & Dancing
3:00 pm Dips, Slides & Rides. Learn fun and leadable tricks (plus ladies accents) to add interest and flair to your dancing.
5:00 pm Dinner Break & Privates. Then Off to the Madonna Inn! Private Slots are Limited - Call Kris to Reserve Yours Today!

*Dancers should have the ability to complete basic tucks, side passes, under arm turns, whips, and push breaks.

Screening of Ballet Russes

The Ballet Theatre of SLO is screening the documentary Ballets Russes” on Saturday November 4th @ 6pm at American Dance of SLO. This is their main fund raising event for their Dec. 16th & 17th Christmas ballet “The Twelve Days of Christmas“. Ballet Russes

This acclaimed documentary covers the composers, painters, choreographers, and dancers who collaborated over the 40 year period which brought ballet as we know it to America. The evening includes complimentary food, soft beverages and wine by donation and a fabulous silent auction.

They hope (health permitting) to be graced with the presence of a former Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo dancer!

Tickets are $25 per person and are tax deductable.
